The Space Coast Junior/Senior High School community is mourning the loss of longtime educator Ms. Riordan, who passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026. The news was shared with the permission and blessing of her family, who wished for the school community she loved so dearly to have the opportunity to honor her life and legacy.
For 19 years, Ms. Riordan dedicated her entire educational career to the students and families of Space Coast Junior/Senior High School. Throughout nearly two decades of service, she became a cherished member of the Viper Nation family, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues, students, and parents alike. Her commitment to education extended far beyond the classroom, as she consistently invested her time, energy, and compassion into helping students succeed both academically and personally.
Known for her kindness, unwavering dedication, and genuine care for others, Ms. Riordan touched countless lives during her career. Former students remember her encouragement and support, while fellow educators recall her professionalism, generosity, and positive spirit. Her influence helped shape generations of students, leaving a lasting mark on the school community.
In a message to families and staff, Principal Dr. Jannette Connor expressed heartfelt condolences to Ms. Riordan’s family, friends, former students, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. The school has encouraged members of the Viper Family to keep her loved ones in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, with Ms. Riordan’s family welcoming faculty members, students, parents, and community members to gather, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
Recognizing the impact of this loss on students, the school has announced that grief counselors will be available when students return to campus on August 10.
Though deeply missed, Ms. Riordan’s legacy of kindness, service, and dedication will continue to live on throughout Viper Nation.
